Yukichi Kumamoto (熊本 諭吉, Kumamoto Yukichi) is Suzume's uncle, Satoko Yosano's brother, Suzume's father's brother-in-law, and a friend of Shishio's. Suzume lives with him in Tokyo after her father transfers to Bangladesh.
Yukichi works in a café that he owns himself, which is regularly visited by Shishio, and previously Tsubomi.
Appearance[]
Yukichi has dark-colored hair and dark eyes. He also has facial hair and wears glasses.
Personality[]
Yukichi has a cheerful and carefree personality, although that doesn't prevent him from worrying over how Suzume is doing in school and reprimanding her whenever she gets a bad grade.
He is rather good at cooking and is often mistaken for being a homosexual. He personally thinks this might be due to his facial hair, or the fact that he's a good cook.
Plot[]
Yukichi finds out about Suzume and Shishio's relationship and goes and talks to Shishio about it. He disagrees with their relationship because of their age difference, Suzume being only 16 and Shishio being much older than her. But, even though he knows Shishio's interest in Suzume, he still continues to become friends with him.
Yukichi later discovers that Suzume was dating Mamura and asks her to invite Mamura over to his house.
Six years later, it is revealed that Yukichi has married someone. At his wedding, Suzume and Shishio see each other once again.
